Glad this could be of some help! I'm currently using the beforedrop event. I've added a gist here which shows how I've worked with it. I could have left out some extra fixes from my site. So here's a link to my overrides file for the treeDnD. I'm in the middle of crunch time for releasing our software so if you're still stuck in a few days I'll have time to help out. TreeDnD Overrides

That for this post - very helpful - I too had noticed the error in the docs (I just added a comment on the Sencha Doc site about the missing 's') - and also was having issues making 'allowContainerDrops' working, and then I find this - excellent work!

My only question is - what event does this fire off? Neither 'beforedrop' (which also does not seem to work right in 4.0.7) or 'drop' are fired when dropping within the 'treepanel' container, with your fix, even though the drag-n-drop pointer icon looks correct now. I guess I'm not sure what I should be 'listening' for, when I drop within the treepanel using this code.

Thanks for your great work! - I would have had to throw out about a week's work otherwise : -)
